Band Students
Do you want to be a member of the Cranston East Thunderbolt Marching Band or Emerald Encore Color Guard? We would love to have you!
What does it mean to be a member of the band?
As a band, we strive for musical excellence. In order to achieve this, we expect students to persevere, show integrity and personal responsibility while observing the traditions of the Thunderbolt Band. We embody Bolts Pride!
Besides musicianship, students learn to be a team member working toward a common goal. Students in the Thunderbolt Band make friends that last a lifetime. Working together to perform a marching band show yields skills in collaboration, respect, empathy and endurance. The competitive performances we take part in are a weekly motiviator for continued work toward excellence.
As a student progresses through their high school years with the Thunderbolt Band, there are many opportunities to gain leadership skills. Being a leader in the band requires flexibility and initiative.
Rehearsals and Competitions
We begin the fall marching season with a series of rehearsals starting in the summer, leading up to a full week of band camp prior to the start of the school year. Once school starts, we have rehearsals during the week and on Saturdays. Our performances are during football games (when appropriate) and at competitions at high schools throughout the Northeast.
We want YOU!
The band community is one that is always having fun and is always working toward becoming excellent at what we do. If you are interested in learning more about being a member of the Thunderbolt Band, fill out this form to contact Mr. Arsenault.
